We will be offering special retreats, theme weekends, special events, community work days, various courses, and a regular days of worship, some of which will be open to the public throughout the course of the year.

The sisters of Nativity Monastery remind you that seating is still available for a special Marriage Retreat to be held at The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

We also welcome our Guest Speakers: Father Chad and Matushka Thekla Hatfield

Schedule of Events (all times are approximate):

8:30 - Prayers before communion and hours
9:00 - Divine Liturgy      
10:30am - Continental Breakfast
11:00am - First Session  
12:30pm - Break
12:45pm - Lunch/Reception at the Retreat Center
1:30pm - Second Session
3:00 - Questions
4:00pm - Vespers

Marriage: Pilgrimage to the Eternal

The talks will be directed to both married couples and singles. We will discuss the many areas in which we have served together and we will also speak on what we all face as Orthodox Christians in an ever-changing secular society.


Father Chad and Matushka Thekla Hatfield

Fr. Chad Hatfield is the President of St. Vladimir’s Seminary where he has served since 2007. In addition to his administration duties, he teaches both pastoral and missiological courses at the seminary. He is editor of the new SVS Press publication, Patriarch Kirill- In His Own Words. His wife, Matushka Thekla, is the Coordinator for the St. Juliana Society at St. Vladimir’s Seminary and is an iconographer and graphic designer. She is currently finishing her certification as a botanical illustrator. They are the parents of Jason, who is married to Kasey, and who are the parents of Ryan, Morgan, and Braeden Richard. They live in Austin, Texas where Jason is a physician. Sean is the youngest Hatfield son, married to Maggie, and the couple lives in Wichita, Kansas, where Sean practices law.
